Colleen began teaching quilting classes in the early 1980’s and learning about the joy of sharing with other quilters. Over the years, she has come to realize that confidence and enjoyment are as big a part of the classroom experience as expectations of perfection. She met and became friends with Jean Wells Keenan during this time and an attachment to the Sisters Outdoor Quilt Show was born.
The week of the quilt show is the highlight of the year, filled with inspiration, friends and creativity. Colleen is honored to teach every year and touch base with all the people who have taken classes, many she now considers friends. One of the perks of presenting at the Sisters Quilt Show is the opportunity to share uplifting words and thoughts with other quilters, those poems and words are then published on the website for anyone to share with quilters in their world. There are also a limited number of original patterns available on her website laughinglizzies.com, as well as the schedule of upcoming classes scheduled around the Northwest.
Colleen has been a devoted Bernina fan for forty years and spends time gardening and riding horses when the sewing machine needs a rest.
