Hello – my name is Linda Garmon, and I live in Canyonville, OR., with my husband Frank and my little Yorkshire Terrier, “Kelti”.
I started out sewing clothing when I had my children. But I started quilting in 1994 when my first granddaughter was born. Her baby quilt threw me into a whole new world of happiness and wonder.
When going to quilt shows I was fascinated by the Cathedral Window Quilts that were there. I saw that the Cathedral Window quilt was always an “old” quilt that someone’s grandmother had pieced/quilted by hand. I was fascinated with the pattern, but knew that I wasn’t
going to do hand piecing. I wanted to see if I could do it by machine. My first design was the “Original” Cathedral Window block by machine. I made it a “quilt as you go” technique, that is done entirely with your sewing machine.
From that time on, I was interested in all things quilting. I like to try new techniques, often “tweeking” patterns I have tried. I am excited when new things evolve from other patterns.
I love teaching, and I like my classes to be easy going – no stress. Quilting is supposed to be fun, and I want to keep the fun in quilting.
Come join us for our Make & Take classes at the quilt show.
