Quilt Show Judges

Gerrie Thompson

Gerrie grew up sewing clothes with her grandmother and while that came in handy with two daughters, her real passion was quilting. As an active member of many local and regional quilt and fiber arts organizations, she has chaired and organized guild shows and activities. Always looking for innovative techniques, Gerrie has successfully completed courses from many nationally known teachers. Her work has won awards and been juried into local, regional and international shows.

Gerrie’s interest in judging began while volunteering at the APWQ Show, where she was impressed by the sincere appreciation of the quilts by the judges. As a judge, she has learned that each quilter puts a bit of themselves into their work and they appreciate constructive and positive feedback that will help improve the level of all the quilts we get to see at the shows.

Gerrie has been judging quilt shows since 2008. She is a trained Judge of Quilts and Wearable Arts from the West Coast Judging Academy.
